What it is like
What working here actually involves.
The team is small and the surface area is large, which means people own whole areas rather than tickets. An engineer here will talk to the operations team daily and see the consequences of a design decision inside a week, because the people using the software are in the same company.
The domain is genuinely difficult and nobody expects you to arrive knowing it. What we do expect is interest in it — trade finance rewards people who like understanding why a process is the way it is before deciding it is stupid.
We are not going to describe this as a rocket ship. It is a serious business with real regulatory obligations, institutional customers and a long sales cycle. If you want to work on something where correctness matters more than velocity, that is the trade being offered.

- 01 Trade operations
- Document checking, onboarding, counterparty review. Bank trade services experience is the strongest signal.
- 02 Credit and risk
- Counterparty assessment, limit setting and portfolio monitoring for receivables books.
- 03 Compliance
- KYC, KYB and AML across APAC jurisdictions, and the evidence discipline that goes with it.
- 04 Backend engineering
- TypeScript, Postgres and durable workflow orchestration. Correctness under partial failure is the interesting part.
- 05 Frontend engineering
- React and design systems for tools people use all day, where a bad interaction costs somebody an hour.
- 06 Applied AI
- Document extraction and validation on real trade paperwork, which is messier than any benchmark.
